A purpose-driven social co-working café and

community arts space in the heart of Oxford

Café, Workspace, Events

Created by the community, for the community

Common Ground is the beating heart of the Oxford Community, leading the way for a more culturally exciting city.

We offer a flexible space, adapting to the needs of the local community and hosting a variety of evening events including live music and comedy clubs.

As well as offering a fully-licensed evening bar serving craft beers and wine, during the day we proudly serve locally roasted, ethically-sourced specialty coffee, a variety of sweet treats and affordable lunch options.

At Common Ground we're proud to work with local suppliers who share our passion for sustainability.

That's why we serve only the best coffee, ethically-sourced and roasted in Oxford by our friends at Missing Bean. We've also got a delicious selection of organic teas by Canton Teas, perfectly balanced Zuma chai, and rich velvety hot chocolate.

Our pastries and sourdough are made fresh every morning by The Missing Bean Bakery.

We get our baked goods from Oxfordshire local, KB Eats, on Thursdays serve the famous Pippins Donuts (if you know, you know) plus, we work with local bakery Hamblin who deliver seasonal treats on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

What do our regulars say about us?

“Common Ground is everything to everyone, providing contentment and fulfilment to the local community. The atmosphere the team has provided gives people access to friendship, compassion and community spirit”

– Henry McGrath, a local painter.

“It’s in my interest to see [Common Ground] do well. I’ve lived in Jericho a long time, since 1983. First of all, its kind and friendly. Shared free Wi-Fi workspace that doesn’t chase you after you had your great coffee. Common Ground helps you feel grounded. Top marks. I torture locals and visitors alike with my wacky art and guitar playing.’

– Jam, Jericho resident

  • “Common Ground is one of the last true remaining third spaces, a space of community and a space of love.”

    – Emma, Oxford University student and Common Ground regular

  • “They use real bakers-quality chocolate in their hot choco! A welcoming artsy space with fabulous baristas, scrumptious pastries, one-of-a-kind layout, and cool art for sale. My star rating for CG and its team is – all the stars (in the universe)”

    – Purva, Oxford University Student and Common Ground regular
